About Take A Step
At Take A Step, I support whole people, not problems. Together, we focus on awareness, self-trust, and intentional action so you can show up in your life in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
My work is relational and reflective, grounded in the belief that people are creative and resilient. I offer trauma-informed, non-judgmental support for individuals navigating stress, relationships, identity, sexuality, and life transitions.

I’m Catherine Kurfman, a personal support and wellness coach with a deep commitment to ethical care, communication, and self-exploration. I work with individuals navigating stress, relationships, sexuality, identity, and life transitions, offering a grounded and compassionate space for reflection and growth.
I come to this work as a queer, polyamorous, pagan parent and as a neurodivergent person with an unseen disability. My lived experience shapes how I listen, how I normalize complexity, and how I hold boundaries — thoughtfully, ethically, and without judgment. I bring formal education in integrative health and human sexuality into my work, alongside continued study in trauma-informed, evidence-based coaching approaches.
I believe people already have the capacity to reflect, grow, and make meaningful change. My role isn’t to fix or direct, but to offer support, perspective, and accountability as you learn to work with yourself more intentionally and compassionately. Together, we create space to notice patterns, build self-trust, and take intentional steps forward in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
